I am sorry I am opening up this thread as I am sure there's a similar one somewhere but I cant find it.

I have an interview coming up on Monday at USJ CT and wanted to know what to expect or not to expect in a typical interview environment. If anyone was interviewed in this school or school where they ask u to write essays, what do they look like?

ANY inputs will be helpful. Thanks!

I recently spoke to a P1 student at this school. She said the interview was very straightforward. They asked her same old questions at pharmacy schools' interviews such as Why pharmacy? What characteristics define you that is needed as a pharmacist? Why USJ?. Then she was brought to another room, and given an essay statement in which she had to write by hand (so it's helpful that your handwriting is legible) in probably 20-30'. I remembered she said there was presentations, lunch, and extra stuffs in between as well. But overall, from the interviewee's perspective, the aforementioned elements are what the interviewers will have you do. I think you have to do a group discussion before writing up the essay also. Don't say anything crazy like "I want to be a pharmacist because I can make a lot of money, and people will respect me, blah blah blah". Just be honest and stay true to yourself. You need to remember that the interview committee wants a level-headed person in the program, who can handle themselves and the stress. At the same time, don't sell yourself short either. At the end of the day, it's your education, and you know what's best for you, the school can't. Good luck on your interview. All the best!!!

Hi, thanks so much for your advice.
I hope we are talking about the same university, University of Saint Joseph in Hartford,CT. As per the interview letter description, they didnt mention anything about the group discussion though, but. Sounds exciting!

You may want to check if your school's interview will have a religious component to it.
