Interview in December...too late?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
depends on your GPA/MCAT really
Most schools that I know don't interview unless they have spots

I have 2 scheduled interviews, one at ATSU SOMA and Marian within the first 2 weeks of December. Are my chances still good for an acceptance or is this for a WL Spot?
It's certainly not too late. I'm not convinced that "interviewing for a waitlist spot" is really a practice at most schools. Take them seriously, and I expect you still have a fine chance for acceptance.

Too late to interview for acceptance? No way. Good luck.

You can always talk to the schools about moving up your dates if something opens up if you're worried about it.

Why would he be invited to interview if the GPA & MCAT weren't satisfactory?

Well obviously. However, higher the GPA and MCAT, the higher the chance.
Interview after all, is just a part of the overall process.

I agree, but I'd say that once you reach the interview stage, your interview performance carries much more wait in the evaluation process than do the numerical parts of your application that they've already seen.

Holy crap this site is nuts.

No, interviewing in December isn't late. Interviewing in February isn't late.

This place will never change from the "apply by July or you'll fry" mentality.

That is a great time to interview. Mine was at Thanksgiving. I would worry more about March/April interviews since the class is mostly picked by then.

Don't listen to the premeds answering these questions. They don't know, and will never know until they, too, get accepted.

Ah thank you. I probably contributed to the unnecessary paranoia on this website, but only because everyone on SDN does so!

Hey guys, I was wondering if it is too late to apply D.O. I already have a PS and all my activities written out, and I applied to M.D. so I have a lot of secondary topics done as well.

I know it would be pretty late with average stats, but I think I have pretty competitive stats for D.O.

3.6ish CGPA and 3.6ish SGPA 34 MCAT

I was looking at the following schools

Western
Touro-Ca
Azcom
Pcom

Also, unfortunately, I do not have a D.O. or M.D. LOR, but I do have 80 hours of shadowing in 6+ specialities including primary care.

Thanks!
