I'm afraid of getting a letter from schools
it seems like everyone's getting a interview invitation by email or call mostly.
is that right?

If you receive a letter in the mail, is it ok to reply via email to accept the interview invite? Or just call?

Depends on what the letter says. I think 99% of them will ask you to call, or at least give calling as an option.

I always called last year to set up interviews, because it gave me an opportunity to communicate personally with somebody in the office. When I arrived for my interview they all remembered the phone conversation we'd had when setting up my interview.

I have gotten a phone call and letter. Depends on the school and their scheduling. You can always call the school and ask what their method is.
