pardon the pessimism/cynic in me, but when you see someone posting info like this and find out that this is their first post, i want to make sure we're not being duped by pranksters who pray upon our vulnerable insecure type A personalities right now because if i were cruel i could come up with a "new" screen name right now and post that i got an invite from the brigham knowing that it would upset people or make them panic because they didn't get an invitation themselves. i hope there aren't malignant people like that lurking on these boards but i question the motives of anyone who goes to the trouble to create a screen name/profile only to dubiously announce that they got an invite from a highly sought-after program as the rest of us are biting our nails in anticipation. i'm not saying it isn't possible, just that i would trust someone more who's been posting all along (or at least more than once) than someone posting for the first time--especiallly something that the person probably knows would intimidate the rest of us reading. i think i'm not the only one who wants to find out if i've been invited for an interview by hearing from the program directly...not by reading about someone else's invitation that i didn't get that day. i digress...but it's just nervous rambling because i'm hoping to get the same news, but with every passing day the tension keeps rising.
thanks for reading.... 🙄
hi,
my first post was my mentioning of a ucsf interview. my username is essentially my real name (FI, MI, last name), so my anonymity is sort of limited here. i've applied to 12 programs total (only general categorical) -- besides ucsf i've received invites to vandy, case (my home program), and uchicago.

Do you guys know if the programs will reject or just ignore the ones they don't want?
Could someone comment on desirability or pros and cons of the following programs:
1. Stanford
2. Michigan Ann Arbor
3. UCLA
4. Wash U in St. Louis
