Isidella,

I heard about your verbal debacle, and let me say that you will probably be one of the most phenomenal mstp candidates as soon as your august scores come in. If I was an adcom member, and I saw that this person got a 30 with a 2 in verbal, I would definitely wait till the august scores come in to disprove the 1 in million odds possibility that it was a misgrid.

Needless to say, keep your head up and hey, if im getting a few interviews...lol...you'll be fine.
 
I'm updating my Baylor date. Do they pay for interview expenses? I assumed that they did since they are in the middle of the country, but now I'm not so sure. They have student hosting, but they're pretty emphamatic in saying that it's not guaranteed and that you need to book with a hotel. I asked the interview coordinator by e-mail about expenses when I confirmed my interview date, and she ignored the question.

Just confirming my Duke interview date. Also, jot, I found out that Rochester does indeed do student hosting, so you don't have to worry about giving up your place to an almost complete stranger. Not that I would ask to do that anyways :) Thanks for offering tho. Maybe I can still come early enough that we can meet up? We'll talk about it later. Have fun at Baylor :)

Just updating my duke mstp interview date..and btw...does it seem odd (and pretty damn cool!) that the sdn mstper's are getting some pretty kick ass interviews already? go SDN! whats even more amazing is this: after looking at the stanford pdf file that says duke only interviewed 15 of some 75 mstp candidates in 2001....um, we have 5 right here!! incredible!

for those of you who got WashU invites- how did you get them- email, snail mail, phone ?- only because I'm not quite sure if my voice mail is working and my mail is notoriously late- not a good combination. Anyway, I was just curious- Thanks

so, pitt kept sending me all this friggin recruitment mail, for high mcats, blah blah, and sent me some mail exhorting me to consider their md/phd, based solely on my test scores i guess. i regretted not SCAMCASing pitt back in june, so decided what the hell, and sent them a primary couple weeks ago. as a semi joke, i indicated "md/phd- other", expecting to get rejected immediately for the phd part at least (undergrad gpa/mcat disparity).

first, then send me a MD invite within days of transmission, as indicated on the pre allo board. ok, thats pretty cool.......

then, dan papula (sp?) sends me a freakin md/phd invite!!!! I haven't even completed their freakin secondaries!!! no letters of recommendation, essays, anything!!!!

maybe they're bringing me in to laugh at my application. i AM actually very interested in getting a doctorate in public health, but this should be funny. ahh whatever, at least i get to rub elbows with the cool pre MSTPers for a while :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

Yeah, I got the same thing from Pitt. I think they do this relatively frequently. Another person I know with the big marks (both of us .are in-staters... could this be part of the interview invite thing? I think they show preference) got the same offer. It was a relief actually. Work has been going too well in the past few weeks to really go full force at my applications. At least I'll have a few done before I go home for Christmas for some cheek-pinching.

just got my yale invite- for 10/28-29 - it conflicts with my mt. sinai date- not sure yet which one I'm going to try to reschedule. Maybe I'll see you there, jot

just copy and paste it diana (we don't have the fancy formatting of the pre-allo page)- i moved mt sinai to dec3rd from oct28/29th cause i would be missing too much school - but i guess i'm going to be missing it anyway. see you there perhaps.
