I've been complete for about 2 months (Sept 29 and 30th) at about 8 schools and haven't heard a thing from them? Is a two month silence period normal? Thanks for the input!👍👍

Depends what schools, and where you're from! Also depends on stats! You might want to look at the "What are my Chances Thread"...

If it makes you feel any better I heard about 2 weeks ago from a school I have been complete at since late August. And I still haven't heard anything from a couple east coast schools, but I wasn't really expecting to hear anything anyway, at least not until February or March.

It's normal depending on your stats. If you have like a 42 MCAT and 4.0 than it's probably not normal. However, don't fret, here is how I view it, at least it's not a rejection!

If the schools are silent that means they are still deciding. It's when you get a rejection letter that blows 🙁 Or a hold..those are kind of like semi-rejections although I have heard of people being put on hold and then getting an interview later.

I don't know about other states but I'm reading that TX is a little jammed up right now and the invites are going out more slowly (later) than usual

Some of these schools are plain lazy and unorganized. A couple of schools that I had sent everything to in September just informed me that my file is complete.
Have you considered applying to more schools? Osteo schools? Not applying to osteo schools last year was a mistake that I made

Yea I applied to a few osteopathic schools also and have gotten word from all of them...but not too much MD love yet..im in state PA and have only heard from Commonwealth....Temple, Jeff, Drexel...not a peep! I would love to check out Jeff and Temple...i've heard great things!!👍

TX applicant. Completed: Mid Sept. 3.2sGPA/3.5cGPA/32MCAT. 2 OOS rejections and 1 OOS waitlist. Haven't heard anything from TX schools. The wait has numbed me.

I hear you. I have similar stats to epineph and I only heard from 1 school (fortunately it is the one I really want to go to. Now I feel hope, but also worry because I don't have a back up hope.) Check out the school specific threads so you know what your chances are. I am not so optimistic about the rest of the Texas schools, but I am still optimistic about Albert Einstein and Harvard because they probably haven't looked at my app yet. Ok. Harvard is wishful thinking, but they haven't rejected me. 🙂
