I have my first 3 interviews in the next two weeks and I want to start prepping. Does anyone know of a website that summarizes the current issues and problems in the medical field? I want to be able to talk intelligently about these issues should they come up.

Thanks

Just answer each question with "Because I want to help people."

Talk about how ur a handicapped student because u have my dingus on ur forehead instead of ur posterior end like squat and squeeze did at his interview.😱 😱 😱 😱

I really didn't get many questions about health care or current events in my first 2 interviews, so don't sweat it too much. Here are a few web pages I used to brush up on health care and bioethics:

http://eduserv.hscer.washington.edu/bioethics/topics/index.html

http://www.publicagenda.org/issues/frontdoor.cfm?issue_type=healthcare

Other than that, just check out the SDN interview feedback and skim the brochures/websites/MSAR info from each school. And (this really goes without saying) know what you wrote in your application and be able to verify and substantiate it! Most of my interview questions have been about my activities and such.

Hi, I know a lot of this information is available elsewhere, but here is what I did.
When I began prepping for interviews, I first started looking at the school's website. Basic info here, but sites are usually up to date, and you can generate a lot of questions of your own for your interviewers. These are important, as they show your interest in their program. Also look at any guidebook or literature about the school if you have some.
I then took the Princeton review book "complete guide to medical schools" and went to the chapter on interviews.
They have about ten pages of common interview questions. I prepped every one of these by writing down an answer in a note book. Not to make a "canned answer", but to get my thoughts together on a wide variety of subjects.
Then I had a mock interview with a couple of my professors. I also went over questions with a friend.
Don't forget to review your application materials (personal statement, EC's and your grade history).
Finally, check out the interview database here as studentdoctor.net, and any others you can find. I found it to be accurate, and it gave me a good idea of what to expect.
Sorry I was so verbose, but this all worked for me. I got my acceptance letter (for Early Decision) last Saturday.
Just relax and be yourself, you'll be fine.

I definitely agree about being well informed about what the school offers. I found from my interviews that being well informed on some questions before arriving to the interview and then developing questions after listening to tours and such pre-interview at the school helped greatly. Just relax and be yourself and if you don't about something just say, "I don't know." I have yet to experience any real tough questions and interviewers seem to appreciate genuine interest in the school and programs, academic or otherwise.
