Tomorrow I will be going to interview for a volunteering position at my local hospital. Does anybody know, from experience, what kinds of questions I will be asked? What do I say if I am asked why I want to volunteer? Should I mention that I am interested in a career in medicine? Any input will be appreciated. Thank you.

its really not a big deal w/ volunteering. just be truthful and be yourself.

Everyone volunteering there is a pre-med, probably, so they expect that. I always say: I'm considering medical school and so I want patient care experience and volunteer hours.

They know why you're there. For the most part, Volunteer spots are not competitive positions. They are just happy to have you. Reliability is probably the characteristic they are most interested in.

They likely want to see that you're not crazy, will consent to a criminal background check (I think they have to ask you this in person), and have some sincerity in wanting to volunteer.

All of my volunteering positions have required an interview and a background check...
As to what kinds of questions they may ask: All of my interviewers have asked "Why do you want to volunteer?" and easy things like, "Where are you from?" All the questions are really aimed to get to know you!
I told all my interviewers that I was interested in medicine. I was truthful with all of them and now, they've even written my a letter of recommendation.

Just be yourself and answer the questions honestly. The questions are really aimed at getting to know you...so just be honest!

Good luck and have fun volunteering!
