So my interviewer asked me which allopathic schools I applied to. It seemed very ackward at the time, but I quickly answered, and truthfully, that I applied to the only medical school in my city of residence (San Diego) which happens to be an allopathic school.

How many of you have had that same interview question and how did you respond without appearing like you were applying to DO as a "second choice"?

Luckily I was still accepted....Yay!

...and just for the record, DO is my top choice, unless I get admitted to UC San Diego (geographic location trumps Osteopathic vs. Allopathic).

I got asked in my interview and I said that I applied to all schools in my state. I said with with a tone of "well of douse I would apply to all schools in my state, it would be foolish for anyone not to". They seemed to like that answer and I don't think I came across that DO is my backup.
