ok, i know most people wear nice dress suits to interviews but how does nice dress pants and a button up dress shirt sound? too informal? is there any other option than the regular dress suit? the only reason i ask this is because i know they will judge you on how you dress..thanks!

A tux would not only look classy but put you a cut above.😎

Def. do the nice dress suit. Once you get in for labs and stuff you can drop the jacket, but for all interviews in your life, keep it more on the formal side.

I would definitely bring the jacket with you. If you aren't comfortable with interviewing in the jacket, just ask the interviewer if they mind you taking off the jacket before the interview. BE SURE TO ASK. I cannot stress the importance of asking. A simple "would you mind if I 'blah blah blah'" will demonstrate a professional courtesy that puts you a class above. If you do not ask, even taking a sip of water without permission may turn some interviewers off. Play it safe =) After all, your interview is that golden ticket. Don't blow it because of some stupid technicality.

Definitely go with a suit. Just a shirt and pants is too casual. One girl was actually wearing a jersey dress to her interview...yikes!

I hate dressing up so forgive me for the lack of terminology.

Isn't your proposal just omitting the dress jacket from your ensemble? If so, then I would just bring the jacket as it's better to overdress than to underdress. Of course, a tux is overkill and potentially distracting.
