What current events do you think will be asked about in interviews? If you've already had your interview, what questions were you asked about current events, health or non health related?

If you're concerned about being asked what your opinion is regarding the current health care reform, I wouldn't sweat it. I have never heard of current even questions being asked in an interview for pharmacy school. That's not why you're there. Your opinion on the matter isn't going to be the same as it would if you were already a pharmacist because you aren't a healthcare provider yet. You may be a pharm tech, but you don't look at the situation in the same way as you would after going through professional school. The questions you can be sure you will be asked are already on here, just look for them.

My interviewer asked me what I think the profession is heading towards, with Obama's new health care reform. I was like 😱 & 😕 then told the guy that I do not know much about it but that at my current workplace, there was a newsletter out stating the pros and cons that it will effect its members ( I work at a non-profit organization that has it's own insurance for its members). I just told him the pros and cons...... Good thing I looked through the emails and stumble upon the newsletter 2 days before the interview😱

This reminds me of a story:

At my UCSF interview, we finally got to the essay writing portion. Our admissions director was passing out sheets of paper and then said: " And now you are going to write an essay on the logistics of Obama's health care reform. " :scared: :scared: :scared:

I almost had a heart attack. :scared: Somebody let out a loud sigh, I felt my heart racing and jumping out of my chest. My ears started ringing and I was getting this funny nauseous feeling in my stomach - I was clueless and so pre-occupied with classes and admissions process that semester, I completely neglected any news on this issue.

Turned out he was just joking.

That sounds like my worst nightmare 😱! But I was warned by my pre health advisor that some current events questions might pop up so it would probably be a good idea to know at least something about the health care reform that just passed in the senate.

It's more than just Obama's entire healthcare form, the industry (namely the retail side of it) is going to snap at some point. They are operating with too much work and getting paid too little to sustain themselves.

Eventually Walmart or Walgreen's is gonna stand up to a major PBM and then all hell will break loose lol

Anyone asked about current events this year in an interview?

Also...what is a good response to the healthcare reform?..for someone who doesn't pay much attention to what is going on right now!!!

They can be: what is the biggest problem in pharmacy field today? What do you think about Universal Health care? What's your suggestion?
