In the interview, do the adcoms usually ask specific questions regarding your pharmacist shadowing/volunteer work?

Could you give some examples of what kinds of questions are typically asked?

What should you typically take away from shadowing/volunteer pharmacy experiences?

In an open file interview, ADCOMs generally ask you about the "specific volunteering/experience" you've done, or they'll ask you to talk about what you did as in did you take in a leadership position? What did you do that pertains to the field of pharmacy? etc. On the other hand, on a close file interview, ADCOMs don't know anything much about you, so they'll ask about "general volunteering/experience" you've done, and you can also narrow it down to your advantage.

During my interview, they didn't even ask about my shadowing or volunteer work. They asked about my research and why I wanted to be a pharmacist and what I think the main aspects of being a pharmacist are blah blah. They even throw me off a little with this question: What would you do to help the people facing health disparities? They can throw any question at you. But regarding your subject, they may ask what you learned from your volunteer/shadowing? What did you gain and how will it help you become a pharmacist? Do you feel it better prepared you and gave you insight to what being a pharmacist is all about? What exactly did you do when you volunteered/shadowed? If its on your resume, they may ask about it but they may not. You should take away how it better prepared you for the pharmacy world.
