Since we all tend to post reviews of interviews and programs in our respective specialties, I thought it might be helpful for future applicants to have a general thread with info related to costs for interview season in general.

Please post the specialty you applied to in the reply title to help with sorting.

Most money spent is on flying around and application fees (depending on how many you apply to. I may have overapplied. Better safe than sorry. YOMO - you only match once)

Wow I totally screwed myself.

I have spent 10,000 for 20 interviews, mainly flying from west coast to east coast.

That's some serious $$$. But you spent it and its over. Forget about it. Once you land a spot it will all be worth it.

I did almost the same thing, don't feel alone. Same amount of interviews, costs, and going coast to coast. Hopefully we can look back on the whole situation with a smile.

I don't know exactly how much I spent, but it wasn't too far from that. And honestly, I'm glad I did... it'll make a minor dent in my overall student loan debt, and it might end up making a huge difference to my career.
