Interviews early or late = better?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
You want them late as possible, April or May is usually best.

 No I mean, early but late enough so they'll remember you come the end of Nov, assuming they start accepting people around then, instead of during interviews.

Early is best

I was told by a TX school last yr that 90% of their accepted class comes from the first round of interviews. I would think that if you are interviewing as late as Dec then you are the last of the group and it becomes more competitive because they have already decided on most of the seats. Of course this is the TX schools and it might be different in other states.

you want to interview as early as possible. My guess is after a school interviews X amount of students the admissions committee meets and decides who to take, who to put on the wait list and who to reject. So if you interview in September they prob. make a decision on you in september. but you dont find out until december.
So the earlier the better.
You dont really have to worry about them forgetting about you. But I am sure happens, but not often.

Don't be worried about them "forgetting about you." At any given schools your interviewer might not even be on the admissions committee (some are and some aren't). So they fill out a form about you (ranking you from 1-5 on some things, and writing out longer answers on others). So even if you interview the day before they're sitting down to make decisions, the possibility exists that all they have is a sheet on you and not the interviewer who actually interviewed you. (not that this is always the case, but it is highly likely). Thinking back, none of my interviewers were actually on the admissions committee.
