Interviews for MCATers in 28-32 range

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
anyone with acceptances in this group?

Can anyone let me know if there is a 3.3-3.5 gpa and 28-32 mcat thread...im right in the middle of that range and I could defly use the feedback!!!

I got accepted on the 15th to the medical college of wisconsin.

i've had six interveiws so far.... (utah, wake forest, iowa, VCU, GWU, and MCW). i have three interviews scheduled for november (Vermont, Penn State, and Roslalind Franklin).

31O. 3.95 GPA.

i really hate how this thread incenuates that a 30-32 is an iffy score. i recieved a 32 and i know that places me in the 83-87 perecentile.. and im prety sure that with a 30 ur at least 75 percentile.. it just shows u how sdn has affected all of us.., We need to realize that the 200 or so people that score a 35 + are the minority, and that yes, they will be accepted before us, but there's 10,000 other seats open for the rest of us.

also, i forgot to mention that a 28/29 is a very solid score as well.

31 with 4 invites so far. hope to get more though because 2 of them are way out of my league.

There must be something about you that they like, so dont consider yourself out of their league!!! good luck

All u guys who got interview, was the interview for regular admission?

If so, when were u complete and how long u had to wait before getting interview?

my STATS click on the link on ur left.

2 interviews so far.. for the first i was complete 9/27 and recieved invite on 10/2... for the second i was complete 9/28 and recieved invite on 10/9.. hopefully more will come in soon..

I have a 30 MCAT (32 if you take my best scores from my 2 MCATs) and I have had 2 interviews and 1 acceptance at a school I LOVED!!

31 with 4 interviews

I don't fit in between 28-32, but I'll post anyway.

27M, 4 M.D. interviews, 2 D.O. interviews, 1 osteopathic acceptance and 1 allopathic acceptance, both very prestigious medical schools but I'm going for the M.D. -- I've been walking on the clouds for the last 24 hours -- good luck to everyone!!!

Congrats! What's your GPA and ethnicity btw? And are those schools that accepted/interviewed in-state or OOS and what school is it?

I've got a 3.5 gpa. My ethnicity as I applied on paper is white/Caucasian, but thats crud b/c I'm of Afro-asiatic descent (oh well, I figured I would just go with the crazy race designations flow).

All of the schools I interviewed in thus far have been out of state. My state school, although very reputable, is a tad bit slow -- but whatever, they can take their time now, not much difference to me.

I don't know why, but I'm a bit hesitant and insecure in giving the name of the school I have been accepted to -- but fyi, their avg student enters with about a 3.75 gpa/~31 MCAT.

hmmWhen the interviewers saw you at the interviews, you got +.3 on your GPA and +3 on your MCAT for being a URM, I think

But when you apply, you specify whether or not you are an URM -- I made no such specification. Whatever, it might be that you are partially correct, but I would not discount that my status as a grad student with over 4 years of independent research experience and a good extra curricular profile also had something to do with it.

that too 👍

people with under 30 mcat please tell where you got interviews!

I got a 26M and have a 3.95 GPA, (extenuating circumstance right before I took the MCAT). I've had two interviews (IU School of Medicine and USUHS in Maryland). I have one more interview so far at WVU School of Medicine.

27R, 2 invites (then again, I only applied to 2 schools so that's 100%!)

29 or 30L (depending on the school)
4 Acceptances, 7 interview invites.

32 MCAT, only applied MD, 8 interviews (though canceled Iowa), 1 acceptance (Temple)

30 MCAT, applied to 8 MD schools (7 in-state), 1 interview so far, and I waited a looooong time for it (over 60 days) so, yeah, don't give up hope. I feel like things are only now starting to get rolling (or so I like to tell myself).

28N MCAT, four interviews, 1 acceptance. I have 3.94 BCPM and I am a redneck country boy (thus, HickMD), maybe they will count me as URM.

30. applied to 15 schools. only 2 interviews so far 🙁 2 rejections. 2 holds.

32R (first MCAT was a 24O)

5 interview invites (2 from Miami - 2 separate campuses)

I have one acceptance from USF (State school)
I also hear back from my first Miami interview this week.

I am very happy with my status so far but I'm looking for some NY love...

3.62, 30R

2 interviews, first one coming up at my #1 pick on thursday...it has reputation of giving hard interviews...im feeling nervous ><

wish me luck!

My MCATs are 27M and 26O with a 3.6 GPA. Two weeks after secondaries I have no rejections and two interviews: University of Iowa and UNMC, both as a non-resident applicant. Don't get worried, give it time.

Okay, I'm updating. 32O with one acceptance (University of Oklahoma) and two invites (Brown and Vanderbilt). I'm still waiting on the other schools, but I'm feeling a few rejections on the horizon... :scared:

You look set to me, maybe JHU, but ya never know

29Q (7 in verbal) 6 MD invites, 2 DO acceptances

also to give ppl w/ sub 30 MCAT score some hope, I remember how worried I was when I got my mcat score back!

29Q, 3.83 GPA. 5 MD interviews so far, received all UC secondaries except UCLA-Drew.

:luck::luck::luck::luck::luck::luck::luck::luck:

wow, i have very similar stats as you and yet i have no md interviews yet 🙁. maybe your grad student status helped you~

I just got one with a 27Q. There is some hope after all!

One interview that turned into a waitlist.

31M 3.63 in Biochemistry

That invite was 3 months ago. I think it is my fault I applied to such competitive schools.

I took the MCAT three times, going from 29->30->29. Applied all MD/PhD, and got 4 interviews so far. I'm a NY resident(not URM), but it doesn't matter in my case because I'm applying MSTP. 4 interviews so far with completion around 10/12 from SUNY Upstate, Buffalo, UMinnesota-Twin Cities and AECOM. I guess I'm not doing so bad?

You bet! Now put Mayo on your mdapps list right now if it's one of your top choices. I let a friend talk me out of applying there a couple of months ago because she said I didn't stand a chance, and I somewhat agreed, and decided that I'd only apply if I got a 32 or above on the MCAT. Since I got a 30, I didn't apply. But I really started to regret it, and finally got up the nerve in the end of September to add it. Why shouldn't we all dream? So my advice is to follow your dreams, and don't listen to the nay-sayers. :luck:

28N and average GPA. Three in state interviews coming up in IL. GL everyone.😀
