Do dental schools conduct interviews the first week of January? I'm planning my winter vacation and am not sure if I should be back right after New Years for potential interviews or can take that week off.

The weekdays of the 1-5? Probably not, they're probably still coming back from vacations around then. Also you could always reschedule if for some slim reason a school invites you during those exact few days. Live your life, take the vacation.

Yes, Jan 2 - 6 (some schools do interviews on Saturdays too). Yeah, but if I'm invited for an interview that week, I wouldn't want to push it back as that decreases my chances. So I just don't want to be out of the country if I'm invited for an interview that week.

Interviewing a week later will have little to no impact. It's up to you tho

I don't think most dental schools conduct interviews every week right? I was under the impression that they only conduct interviews once or twice a month.

Nope, I've gotten a couple of post-Dec (1st) already. Mostly since the beginning of the month.

Well for Lecom, which I haven't scheduled yet, it has/had interview dates during the first week. The others are in December (post Dec 1st).

Very interesting, this shows that it's a possibility. Any other replies would be appreciated.

I received two January interviews (got the emails early November/late October), so I believe they should be going out already

Not the beginning, no, right in the middle of January

Yes they do. I received a post-Dec interview on the Friday, first week of January. But like others said, you can always reschedule.

I had one Jan 11. Not the first week, but close to it.
