Is such a thing possible? I have heard that applying early is best, but what if you haven't taken the April MCAT? Is it worthwhile to "apply" early in hopes of an interview without an MCAT score?

But, it?s still a good idea to get the applications in early, so that by the time your MCAT scores are out, your application will be complete and ready to go.

I'd say its not only a good idea to get stuff in early even if you are taking the aug mcat....i'd say IT IS A MUST that you have all of your files complete before the aug scores are released in october.

I've been through my schpiel a billion times i'm too lazy to explain it in detail. So I'll just say...get EVERYTHING in as early as possible even if you are taking the aug mcat.

Thanks dreaminofmd. i appreciate it. 😀

I am assuming Texas mom is from Texas.

In that case, UTMB states on their website that they will grant interviews without MCAT scores if the application is good and if the GPA is around 3.5 or above. I don't know about the other TX schools.

But trust me, I took the Aug. MCAT last year and didn't have my application turned in until Oct. 10....I am sure that hurt my chances big time for interviews at a few of the schools.

In retrospect I think I am fortunate to have as many interviews as I did and to actually match.

Regardless of your situation or GPA I say to turn it in ASAP and get it over with; just make sure your personal statmt. is good.
