Hey! I just received emails from Barry and Temple for interviews. I'm really excited but nervous for the interviews. What kinds of questions do they ask? Is it a single or group interview?
Please help a girl out lol

i interviewed at barry last week. here is what happened:
they took us into the conference room and gave us a run down on financial aid, basically telling us how to pay for school if we want to use loans. then, we were ushered out into the waiting room, and called back into the conference room individually for our interviews. questions were why podiatry, why barry, why i switched from a lucrative occupation to pursue medical. then, he asked if i had any questions for him.
we took a tour and ate lunch and i went home. pretty easy goin and relaxed. mark is a way cool guy.

Anyone go to a Temple interview yet? If so could you break it down like barry. Barry doesn't seem that bad interview wise. I have a Cali on the 4th of october i'll break it down for you guys.

I think most people that interview at any pod school get accepted

This is not true. If you said, an applicant applies/interviews to all the schools then yes must will get in. But the upper tier schools reject prospective students all of the time. I've had friends get reject from DMU and I've been part of the interview process and turned away applicants.

So take it seriously at the bigger schools.

people get turned away at the other (not top teir) schools as well.

I'm not trying to insult any school, I'm just bring realty. DMU has about 300 applicants and fills 50-60 spots. Some are except and don't go, but there are a lot of reject applications.

No school accepts 100% of the people, and all schools have extremely qualified students. If you are in the top 10 in your class anywhere, you deserved it.

You seem to be knowledgeable, i'm kinda new to this field so is temple considered a top tier school because temple's one of my top choices. Hopefully i will get in. My gpa is 3.5 and sci is 3.6 i got an interview invite last week, also to DMU.

With a 3.5, 3.6, you should be fine if you have a solid MCAT.

I don't want to start a big fight about the school rankings. I will say that you can and will be successful at any school. What is important is your effort and feeling comfortable with the school.

thats a good question. probably not. my feeling is that they want to fill thier seats quickly. i interviewed 1 week ago, and got my acceptance that day. yesterday, i received a hard copy of my acceptance, and they want a deposit by 10/12, so i think they want to secure thier seats asap. a chick at my interview had just come from temple where i geuss they hinted quite strongly that she would be accepted, but she is going to barry instead. she liked the campus and the facilities much better at barry. i think it is wise to interview at all of the schools that you are even remotely interested in attending. it will help with the decision. i was pleasantly surprised at barry.

I will go out on a limb and answer your question outright. Yes. Any school that offers a same day acceptence should really make you stop and think. Is it possible they want to get that seat deposit before you visit a good program and see what a medical education should be like? Great doctors graduate from all of the pod schools, but the fact reamins that the diffence between some of the programs is astonishing. Be sure to make the extra effort to compare ALL of your options, you'll be glad you did. Good luck.

There are close to 100 people, so I'm assuming thats really good. I havent heard many others. But as a pod applicant, thats what I'm looking at.

hey speaking abt Scholl. Whats up with the interviews. Anybody interviewed there lately. I heard they have stopped granting same day acceptances for students now. they are saying they will inform them in 1 month. is this true. i attended their first day of interview and there were very few of us. When i atteneded they accepted me the same day.

Just got my Temple interview invitation! Not sure when I'll be able to interview, but it would be nice for someone who already has experienced it to post some helpful notes and such. Wow, already starting to feel nervous.

i agree! that is what it is there for!! i would really like to hear about some interview experience at DMU. those posted happened in july when the 06 class was already full. anyone have anything fresh from DMU, OCPM, Scholl, or AzPod?? your ibfo will be greatly appreciated, unless you are flypod or osteo dawg!!

Sorry to burst your bubble CSPM, but we at Scholl did get 95% this year and continue to get in the mid 90's on Part I.

What was it the year before??? I have not heard about his years scores except DMU and AZPOD. Please remember this info is not disclosed so you can search the internet all you want never find out what the average score is at each school.

As I said, I'm not trying to pick a fight. I am impressed by Scholl's move to hire the study professionals increasing the effectiveness of the teaching styles.

It speaks volume about how academically successful their program is. Possibly this could be due to the fact they work hard to make sure you are on track academically. Some of the applicants with lower GPA's can and are accepted, however they must meet with academic advisors weekly to make sure everyone is ahead of their game.
