Just wanted to give those of you who are headed to Penn for interviews a little update. I was in the first group of interviewees yesterday (there were about 25-30 of us). I was sooo nervous going in to it, even though I had been told repeatedly it wouldn't be bad. I was staying with a friend just outside of Philly. I tried taking someone's advice to eat a good breakfast, so I cooked myself up two eggs. I got half a bite in, felt like I was going to through up, so that was the end of that 🙂 The day was really long (especially on an empty stomach!). First we had an oversession with the dean of admissions, and then we were broken up into smaller groups for tours of the school. I had a second-year and a first-year leading my group. The second year knew a TON about the place and was really informative and and the first-year was able to give us helpul information about what next year would be like/calm our nerves about the admissions process. After the tour, we headed back to the room we started in and were given lunch. Then we stayed in there for 3 hours while we were called up one-by-one by our interviewers to go to our interviews (we were told what our timeslot would be earlier in the day). I was lucky and was in the second group (only had to wait half an hour). At first, my "cold" interviewer seemed kind of harsh and apparently I was reaaally nervous, but thn about halfway through the interview something changed and she majorly lightened up and it was like a friendly conversation (it wasn't that bad at first, I just felt like she was a judgmental of everything I had to say). They keyed in on the things that I thought they might (my age--how well I handle being younger than my peers)and were glad at the things they seemed to appreciate about my application (that I want to go into veterinary medicine to ultimately help people, the missions work that I'm currently involved in, etc.). After my interview, I headed back to the room and chatted with the other interviewees and current students for a few more hours. By the end, nobody had anything left to say and everyone was ready to go home...knowing that the committee would be meeting to discuss us immediately following! I was exhausted, my friend picked me up and we headed back to parents' house. I was laying on her sofa with her two infant siblings crawling all over me when my phone rang from an unknown number. It was my interviewer. I got in 🙂 Yay! She said she knew I was SUPER nervous (apparently my chest was all red and blotchy during the interview?) and wanted me to enjoy the rest of my weekend and be able to breathe deeply. I'll be receiving the official letter soon, but she just wanted me to get the heads up now. WOOHOO!! I'm glad this was my first interview/decision, it definitely takes the pressure off!

Has anyone who get an e-mail interview invite from RVC gotten anything in the mail? The e-mail said that information would be sent to us through the post, but that was weeks ago and I still have yet to receive anything.

I got a snail mail follow up a couple of weeks ago--it included a little RSVP form for the interview. I got another email last week about RSVP-ing--they said they'd been slow getting the snail mail out & that they were sending out another batch of letters (follow-ups) soon. --Hope that helps! You might try emailing their office (they're pretty friendly).
