So what is everyone doing to prepare for their upcoming interviews? This is my first time having an interview and my 2nd year applying. I have thought of some of the questions they may ask and thought about how I would respond but is there anything else I should be doing to prepare? 😕 Also is there any other website that gives information about the schools besides the schools website. Such as teacher student ratio? Thanks and good luck to everyone!!!😀

1. hold mock interviews
2. look at the interview feedback section for even more questions
3. ASK a pharmacist or pharmD student of what they think of your answers. (while most questions are open ended, there are few that require specific answers).
4. Confidence is key, so make sure you can answer questions in front of a panel.

I applied last year and was soooo nervous about the interview portion, like almost had a panic attack and wanted to run away and not even go to the interview, I was that nervous! Let me tell you, it's really not as bad as you think though I'm sure that doesn't make you feel any better. My interviews ended up being much more like conversations instead of interrogation style, question-answer interviews. It was much more like tell me about this volunteer experience etc. and oh so you worked here? so it'll come a lot more natural than you think. Of course, this all depends on the interviewer you get but really the interviewers are not out to get you and see you fail (or at least I would hope not). They understand you're nervous and basically they just want to try and get an idea of the person you are and that you are applying to pharmacy school for valid reasons and that you can handle pharmacy school. However, it really is important to come in prepared with what exactly in your experiences, your background you want to highlight. Have examples ready to choose from. Feel free to give your thoughts and opinions on the field of pharmacy. I believe that's what I did that made me stand out.

Also, I definitely recommend checking out the info. here on SDN of reviews of past interviews like the previous poster said. For Baltimore, all the questions I had read on the interview feedback were used pretty much word for word during my interview so they really do recycle questions! Good luck! Don't let the nerves get the best of you b/c really they're just trying to get to know you beyond your paper application. =) You'll do fine!

Thanks guys!
Kattster - You made me feel much better! Where are you a student at? And how is pharmacy school going? Is it rough? Do you work as well? Hehe so many questions I have!!

I am assuming you are talking about Nova? Anyways, it is opened file so whatever stands out good or bad make sure to talk about it. Dress up professionally and make sure to do your best, which is be yourself. Ratios on anything vary from school to school. No need for SDN at Nova. It will be the basic Why Nova? and Why Pharmacy?
I see under your picture it says accepted pharmacy student, where did you get accepted at?

I completely agree. I've been told it's like a really long job interview, if that is of any help.

For any interview, I would arrive the day before to try to figure out where to go and everything, making sure I have all my necessities. This bodes especially true for in-state schools, I'd think.
