I honestly think one of my LORs says "accept her or fear my wrath"

I'm debating pushing off some interviews (like new MD programs or DO schools to November since I am less likely to attend them)... but then I'm worried I won't get into any schools in October and will be freaking out that I ruined my chances by not going to earlier interviews for these other schools.

37 completed applications -- so yea, I realize I applied to a bazillion schools... but I viewed my application as pretty average... and I could afford so many applications (though I wasn't planning on all this traveling but it's worth it!)

edit: the number of applications only got that high mainly because of SDN. I narrowed a list to 29 and applied. Then tacked on 3 new MDs. and then added in 5/6 DOs. SDN makes you super nervoussssss

I understand! I'm alittle worried myself, but luckily I have "less" immediate responsibility as a graduate student. My two classes are T/Th, but I am suppose to be doing thesis research all the other times (and mentoring an undergrad)... and I also TA M/W/F... and yet, I keep scheduling interviews for Friday and monday... so I am sure the professor is going to get pissed at me at some point, but I already spoke to the school about this.

ANYWAYS, I think the most important thing is trying to schedule Monday/Friday only because that way you aren't traveling in the middle of the week and losing even more school days. And just be prepared to have no social life for September and October.

This process has turned me into such a spoiled brat. With each invite I'm happy for a day or two, then I want more more MORE. Even after scoring an interview at a top-10 school, I'm like "this is nice but I'd really like to hear from ______" 🙄

Like all pre-meds, I realize I'm being irrational but I refuse to correct my behavior lest my rationality ruin my chance at a great medical school.

At the time of the OP, I only had one interview invite. I've since attended that, and I have two more. I'm still under review at one school. I only applied to 5 schools and I won't send back the last secondary if I get an acceptance next week from the school where I already interviewed.

Depends on where you're waiting at, but I would say no. People still get interviews through February. They also had to wait, so all is far from lost.

Yea. I got invites at a couple of schools despite the fact that others who were complete a month or more later than me were already getting invites.

Some schools really just go in order and no response most likely means silent rejection.

Oye. I sincerely hope a no response isn't a silent rejection. I've been complete since early sept and i haven't landed an interview yet. 5 rejections and a whole lot of silence.

8 interviews, one "on hold" pseudorejection (Chicago) and one most-likely rejection (UCSF, pre-secondary, super bummed out about this one 🙁) I'm really hoping for an interview at another California school, but not holding my breath. 3.73/37. Other than that, I'm feeling pretty good.

I don't think that the fact that you haven't landed an interview yet means you are rejected (unless you are talking about Texas schools) Patience and Faith, my friends. Patience in waiting to hear back and faith in that where you end up is where you are meant to be =)

Eh, even if you're talking about Texas schools, all is still not lost from what I understand. I've seen interview invites recently from people who were complete in early August at several of the schools.

I keep telling myself that I should finish all the secondaries that I've received, but I just can't get motivated to do them. I think I might get a second wind though after this first round of interviews.
