I got mail from U Pitt on Saturday. A letter and a book of "eight stories". It seemed particularly directed at non-trads, although maybe it's just a very non-trad friendly school. I didn't apply there, but I'm thinking about checking out the website and seeing if I get a warm fuzzy feeling. Anyone else get this?

The Podiatry school in NY and Washington U.

I never even considered Washington. They have some crazy stats. And I worked with a physician that went there, he said it was tough as nails, though he loved living in St Louis. My GPA might be compteitive, but they average a 12 on all sections of MCAT. Too high for me,

But they emailed me their automatic interview invite (I did send them my AMCAS) which had me jumping up and down until I realized they're non-rolling, so it doesn't really help avoid my pile of secondaries... But it's nice to know they like me enough to talk to me.

Today I got brochures on MD-PhD/MST programs from Case Western Reserve (Lerner) and from Medical University of South Carolina (actually, they sent me a CD-ROM). Given that I have zero interest in doing research, I can only assume that this is still MCAT-score-based.

Yeah, I got about four of these. One or two of the services sent me multiple letters. It's funny because I'm active duty Air Force, one part of the Air Force won't let me apply to medical school because they need me in my current specialty, and one part is recruiting me for what the other part won't let me do. Crazy.

I also got U of MN Twin Cities. It was URM targeted and made me chuckle when they boasted a 2% increase in URM enrolment from 3% in 1997 to 5% in 2000. Wow, that sounds really diverse....
