invites without app complete?

I know we are hashing out every possible scenario here- so I was wondering... Any chance of getting an invite before my other two LOR writers cough up the letters? Everything else is complete except for those two LORs ( and if I could put any more pressure on them to get them in, they probably wouldnt write them).

Got an invite from Wash U yesterday with bascially nothing in. Just USMLE, 1 letter of rec., PS, basic application. I wonder if it was just a computer that responded to a certain score.

Some programs do grant interviews before apps are complete. They usually wait for at least 1 LOR though, just to make sure you're not all scores. But, don't get discouraged if you don't hear from other places until after Nov. 1st when Dean's letters go out and your app should be finalized! Remember, its only September! Its early in the game! depends on your specialty. I am sure some of the less competetive specialties will give invites with just an app and usmle scores. Even some of the more competetive specialties will offer invites early. I had two last year before all my letters were in, but the majority were well into Nov before I heard from them.

Do most programs notify by mail or email? Seen several posts by people who have heard by email. Thanks!
