It works in pitch black darkness as well. It’s about the same or a little quicker than my finger print. It’s also nice that it automatically inputs your passwords to websites by simply looking at it.Anyone here get the iPhone X yet?
How well does facial recognition work to unlock the phone while wearing a mask and bouffant cap?
I upgraded to iPhone 8 (not iPhone X) because of the unlikelihood of it recognizing my face with a mask on. Entering in a 6 digit code every time to unlock my phone with a mask on is a deal breaker.
Fingerprint readers work with gloves. I actually unlocked my phone with the thin nitrile gloves.it definitely does not work with a mask, but then fingerprint readers don't work with gloves either.
I wear gloves much more than I wear masks.
either way - you end up resorting to a pin code sometimes ... which can be 4 digits.

really? I'll have to try that -- whenever I've forgotten I'm wearing them and tried ... nadaFingerprint readers work with gloves. I actually unlocked my phone with the thin nitrile gloves.
On the same note. Pyxis utilizes biometric readers but accudose does not. Which is excellent.I’ve never been able to get he fingerprint reader on my iPhone 6 to work more than about 1/4 of the time. I’ve registered my finger(s) dozens of times. It just doesn’t work. My fingers must be defective or something.
Anyway, I’m not sure biometric systems are really all that great an idea. The digital representation of a biometric feature can be stolen, but unlike a password, I can’t respond by changing or revoking that part of me. It’s just forever broken. For applications where security really doesn’t matter, like unlocking a phone, I guess they’re OK. I’m just uneasy about the push to use them for serious things.
Pyxis always reads my finger fine. It’s just my phone that won’t. 🙂On the same note. Pyxis utilizes biometric readers but accudose does not. Which is excellent.

nopeDoes facial recognition work if your significant other holds the phone to your face while sleeping?😉
Entirely brand and option-selection dependent. All our accudose machines use fingerprint ID. And it sucks. On the same note. Pyxis utilizes biometric readers but accudose does not. Which is excellent.
