cyclopropyl and isopropyl do not have hyphens, so they are alphabetized using "c" and "i". sec-butyl and tert-butyl are hyphenated, so we alphabetize them by the letter "b". That's from Chad's notes, but I'm not sure if he gave a distinction between straight chain and rings with this naming.
