Are IR fellowships still going to be a thing in say 2022, will it still be feasible to get an IR fellowship from a mid tier rads program, if one wasn't able to match a combined IR residency or say even ESIR?

I’m not sure if you found your answer somewhere, but the IR fellowships are going away next year. But they are essentially becoming the IR Independent Residencies. Aka they added a year to training and crap load of confusion.

No one knows how competitive they will be. However if you want it go for it. Worst case you still completed a DR residency.

IR independent residencies are getting more competitive. 78% match rate this year.

Just make sure you do IR research and participate in SIR during residency.

Interesting. Where did you find the 78% figure?
