Does it look bad if I only have LORs from IR docs and none from diagnostic docs?

If you have all three LORs from only radiology including IR, it is definitely bad.

Only maximum of one LOR should be from radiology or IR. You should have two LORs from your core rotations like medicine or surgery.

A medicine or surgery LOR weighs more than DR or IR LOR. This is the mistake that people make. Everybody knows that as a medical student you don't have a defined role during your IR or DR rotation. But in medicine or surgery you have.

I had one peds, one IR, and one diagnostic rads.

I was more active in participating in my IR rotation than any surgery rotation I've ever been on. However, my experience is probably not the norm.

Wow, that's usually never the case. I had people in my class who were shocked that Rads wanted letters from MS-3 rotations. They figured that MS-3 clerkships didn't "matter" since it had nothing to do with performance as a radiologist, so as you might expected, aimed just to "Pass".

Yeah, I did numerous procedures as the primary operator every day at UAMS. If we got called to the hospital to evaluate a patient post-procedure or who we were admitting, I'd go with whoever went and gave them my evaluation. I didn't write notes or anything, but they didn't GAF about that. This was in August, as well. I can only imagine what they'd let me do if I did it as a later rotation, when the fellows were more capable and had more experience with the basic stuff. Maybe @omarsaleh66 can provide more insight.

My letter was from an IR guy along with surgery, peds and a medicine one for backup. I think the IR letter was one of the better ones because he saw me working and added a personal touch to it.
