Hello, I applied to medical schools once but did not get in nor had interviews. Stats were 3.73 with a 507 mcat. My gpa now is 3.88 since I just finished my undergrad. I am looking to take two gap years where I will most likely work as medical scribe. I have been applying for research positions, however I haven't had much luck landing a job, since I have no previous lab experience. I have 100 hours of clinical volunteering, but plan to add an additional 100 nonclinical volunteering hours. I also have about 500 hours of clinical work experience as a patient observer. My main question is should I do a masters program in clinical research to add to my application? One of the main reasons I am considering this is because I have a 100% tuition scholarship so it would be completely free for me to do this program. I already got accepted but I just want some feedback if I should bother doing the program if I do not plan on actually doing any clinical research before applying again for medical schools? What is the worth of a masters in clinical research in terms of medical school applications?
