My roommate has decided to become a dentist and he ask me if physiology is needed for the DAT. He hasn't taken it and was wondering if he could just get by without the class and independently studying the information. What do you think?

no, everything you need for biology is taught in intro bio.

No... bio 1 and 2 is all thats really needed, although it could only help if you do choose to take it. You should also check the prerequisites of the schools you're applying to see if it's needed.

I would suggest it, on the DAT I took it had a lot of physiological q's on it and without that class I would have tanked the Biology section. Plus if you take physiology you'll be better prepared for dental school.

I think that Physiology helped me greatly on the DAT. i would also recomend Cell Biology and then spend some extra review time on some basic genetics.

If you have the opportunity to take pathophysiology, I recommend it. I had many DAT questions that were nearly identical to some exam questions in my pathophysiology class. But don't neglect the cell biology and botany stuff from your general biology courses. I pulled a 24 on the DAT biology section.

i say yea, take it. If you dont, of course youll still be fine, but itll make studying for the DAT that much easier..
