I am taking a year off and will be applying to med school next year (spring '10). Currently I work at a non-profit health organization but I do mostly administrative work (developing modules for HIV education and training curricula.) Is this okay "gap year" job for medical school? I have some research experience as an undergrad (1-2 years).

Thanks!

That sounds like a great job to me.

I've done research in my year "off," but I know several folks that are having success this cycle and did work just like you've described.

Absolutely!

Research is not necessary and yes, what you have sounds good! 👍
