is anyone able to finish the math section?

no matter how much i try i cant complete the math section i usually end up having 5-6 questions incomplete. but i still manage to get a 330-340 on the practice tests.
IS anyone able to finish the math section or am i too slow?

uhm.. i dont remember if i finished the QR on practice ones.. i dont think i did either hehe.. but on the real thing its NOT as hard but make sure u pace yourself. I finished it on the actual exam. So u should be good. =)

I had 1 minute left and 3 QR questions to answer so I put C for the last 2 without even looking at the questions or answers and solved the last problem I was working on. I scored 400. But indeed you have to work very fast and there is no time to go back and look at your answers, for me at least. And if I'm not mistaken (correct me if I'm wrong) you can make 8 errors out of 40 and still get 400.

Yea i had some trouble finishing the QR section at first also. I would recommend determining time consuming questions and skip them for later, also work out tough problems as estimates and browse the answers for the most approperiate choice. I found that working the problems out partially and then plugging in the answer choices for the correct one saved me a ton of time.. enough to go back and double check the problems i was having trouble on earlier. I havent taking the OAT yet but it defiantely helped with the practice test. So basically i would highly reccomend looking at the answers before working out the "more challenging" problems and you can get a pretty damn good estimate, which makes it easy to score 400. but as for the organic chem... i have no idea how to improve my score haha. good luck

Oh man, that section was terrible for me. I was about 3/4 done (probably did horribly on the problems I worked on) and then I just put C's on all the rest of the answers. Of course I did horribly on it (270...bleh) but fortunately SCCO allowed sub-300 scores back then.

remember not to panic for the math section 'cause its all about logic sometimes

i had 29 seconds left and three more questions to go but i stil got 360 so its ok dont worry about it

do know that there are some questions on probablity

I studied with Kaplan stuff. Did horribly on the practice tests. (Finished 40-60 percent of the problems. Sometimes scored in the high 200's.)

Still, I got a 400 on my actual test in math. The real test is a lot easier than the Kaplan practice tests. So don't worry if you're not finishing those.

So, I'm thinking with scores like 330 on practice tests, you'll get like a 420 on the real test. You will be my math hero.

ps. If you're not using Kaplan stuff, then I don't know what to say. Umm.. don't be afraid to skip questions if you can't solve them fast. Good luck!
