Is Aug 7th too late to take the DAT?

I have everything submitted including my previous DAT score (20 AA 18TS). I'm currently scheduled to take it on the 20th of this month, but I don't think I'll be ready. Would taking it on Aug 7th be considered late? Also if I indicated on my application that I was planning on retaking it in July, would I have to update my application somehow if I decide on the august date?

Took it the 4th of August last year and all schools I applied to gave me interviews. Email the schools and ask if you can email them you score report (or fax) that is how I did it so they didn't have to wait.

No I took it the end of August and had interviews in Oct and Nov and accepted in December

I have the same date as yours, aug 7th ! and im worried if I can get any pre dec interview or interview in general ! I know it's kinda late for TMDSAS but I hope it wouldn't be too late for the rest !!

I took mine the last week of August and still got an interview. Most schools don't send out interview invites until September anyway. However, the earlier the better unless you need more time to prepare.

@FancyFloss I hope that would be my case too ! I hear from lots of people that schools fill up big chunk of their seats with late July & August interviews !

this is coming from baylor reps speaking at our pre-dental club: have your app in by mid july, and dat by mid august. so i think as long as your app is competitive you shouldn't be worried, you're on the cusp of what they consider early.

No just those two, but I know Houston dental program is very prestigious as well; Baylor is closer to home but Im in no position to be picky ! Ill go anywhere !
