The new MCAT contains a lot of Biochem material, so it would behoove you to take it. Also, Biochem is very relevant to some of the intro medical school classes ( I'm pretty certain one of the first classes you'd take in med school is comparable to Biochem II).
It forms a strong foundation and you would be at a bit of a disadvantage not taking it. Not lethally so, but if yo have space in your schedule, TAKE IT.

In the future - yes. But right now it still varies school to school.

I would take it- it may be a requirement by the time OP applies ( we don't know what year they're in)
I was looking at med school requirements the other ( deciding whether or not use some AP credit) and every other school requires Biochem. A smalll protion of them require Biochem if the applicant doesn't take Orgo II, but most of them list, " a year of orgo, and a semester of Biochem"

It's a good idea to take a Intro to Biochem course in undergrad, because it helps you prepare for the MCAT as well as the first year of medical school. However, it might not be required to be taken as a per-requisite for admission depending on the schools you apply to, you'd need to research that yourself. I would recommend taking a biochem class if you are able to do so.
Its getting there... I would just take it. Biochem is usually easier than orgo for most people.
yes. you need to know biochem. and krebs cycle is only the begining.
let's talk when you understand how positive and negative dna expression are regulation via RNA intermediates.

His dialect is too advanced, you would not understand..
You're right, though I have seen similar lexicon over at www.reddit.com/r/iamverysmart/His dialect is too advanced, you would not understand..
yea, my 13 on the biochem section of the mcat suggest i'm full of ****.
No, just an inane smart-ass response to a simple question on whether to take biochemistry or not. By the way, the old MCAT didn't have a "biochemistry" section, so your 13 is quite telling.suggest i'm full of ****.

Maybe he meant 13 on the Bio and 13 on the Chem/Physics section.

I took a year of biochem. There wasn't much on the MCAT (old MCAT) but it definitely helps for Step 1. It's just a good course to have under your belt.
