For those who have taken the exam and done Q-banks, is BRS Physiology really necessary? If you know First Aid Physiology cold and know the physiology from a q-bank, do you think that would suffice? Thanks for your advice.

For physiology, you need to know more than FA. There were basic physiology questions on my exam, and a lot of the pathophys questions require a really good understanding of physiology. If you only know FA and the particular topics that happen to be covered in Qbank questions, that's not enough, in my opinion. You will definitely benefit from a good overall review, and BRS Phys doesn't take that long to go through. If there are sections you know well you can always skip them or skim over them quickly, but chances are there is some area of physiology that you could use a refresher on.

Also, there's no need to get the newest edition - I used the 2nd edition and didn't find anything to be outdated.

FA is definitely not enough for physiology. In fact, I felt like it was rather poorly covered. BRS Physio is a great book and a quick read.
