Is comparing schools to other schools in secondaries ok or discouraged?

Just as the title implies, is this generally looked down upon?

Something like "[School] is the only institution I have found with [Cool thing], demonstrating [School's] excellence, which is compelling as a prospective student."

I'm leaning toward not putting this in, but one of my proofreaders said it was ok, so I wanted to get a second opinion.

As long as there is no direct comparison to another school, it's fine.

Just like in dating, use the superlative form of adjectives. Just remember there is a fine line between honest complementing and insincere flattery.

Just don't send the same message to two schools and forget to edit the essay to replace one name with the other. It has happened.
