Is EK 101 or Princeton Verbal more indicative of the real MCAT??

Anyone who has done both Princeton Verbal Workbook and the EK101 book will tell you that the Princeton one is MUCH MUCH harder in terms of answering questions and reading/understanding the passage. The overwhelming consesus on here also seems to be that EK101 is the best practice tool. However, I find many people saying that the real MCAT verbal was WAY harder then they expected and they were absolutly suprised. So my question is, which one is actually closer to the real exam?

I don't think that's right. The TPR verbal workbook is not extremely difficult. In fact, some may argue it's slightly easier than EK 101. In any case, they are both good practice resources, though neither of them are entirely accurate for different reasons. TPR has drier passages with more straightforward questions, whereas EK has fun passages with weirder questions. It's all good practice though.

I think this is the general consensus (someone correct me if I'm wrong) and it's what I feel as well:

TPR VR-harder to read passages, easier questions (a lot of the times the answers can be found within the passage)

EK 101 VR-easier passages, harder questions.

In my experience, many of the TPR answers can be found in the passages....usually focus on some detail or something. EK 101 questions are more inference/main idea type questions that require you to really understand the author.

Real MCAT-huh. lol, sorry I don't even remember the verbal on my test...I remember the passages being interesting...but can't really remember the questions...maybe someone else can chime in.

EK exams are not closer to the real MCAT. TPR exams are harder because the MCAT is harder.

yea tpr workbook is not super harder than the real deal. some of the tpr online practice tests are ridiculously hard.

in all honesty, EK comes closest to the types of passages you will see (the actual passage you read). EK questions were kinda hard for me.

the most representative are the AAMC practice tests (obviously).

i did all the EK verbal practice and all the tpr verbal practice (and all the AAMC tests) and my verbal score went from ~8 to 10. I think practice in general is the best, not so much one practice source over the other. if you have to choose one (aside from AAMC of course) then go with EK.
