hey guys,

so my emory check got lost in the mail twice!! i had turned it in originally at the end of october and finally was complete dec 4th. do u know if they are done inviting? i would have really liked to interview there.

i don't think they're done inviting candidates yet, but it is getting really late in the game for Emory. i believe they finish inteviewing at the end of February.

I think they're still interviewing.

Maybe email or call to ask if you're still in the running?

Good Luck.

Emory is interviewing until February 28th. I called today and I think they are still sending out invitations. By the way, if you were complete late (mine was complete 12/15), keep in mind that their offices were closed for 2 weeks over Christmas break so your file might still be in review.

I think I'm in the same boat as CanuckRazorback: complete 12/16 and still haven't heard a thing. But then again, I also know a fairly competative applicant who was complete a month or more before me and still hasn't heard a thing. She's up in NYC doing Columbia and Cornell interviews right now. Just one more example of how this process is anything but comprehendable.

so tru, this process is random! but for emory..........i think im going to give up hope by the end of next week.....i sent a letter of interest to the dean, and just emailed june eddingfield and if i dont hear anything, its game over 🙁

Yes, the logic of this process is non-existent. This is just my opinion, but Emory is still reviewing applications so I wonder if their Feb. 28th date is set in stone. Emory is a top 20 program I think so wouldn't it be in their best interest to interview the best applicants? If your friend is interviewing at Columbia and Cornell, you would think Emory would grant her an interview 😕 Gosh, I would really want to get in one of the screener's head...

By the way, has anyone else applied to the MD/MPH program at Emory?

I'm an Emory undergrad, and have yet to receive an interview from Emory. I was complete in late August/early September. I have a 3.78 overall/ 3.59 bcpm and 31 mcat and double major in intl studies and bio. I think the thing that hurts the most is taking the Aug. MCAT. I don't know anyone who took the aug. mcat and has an interview at Emory yet. I heard that they give preference to their undergrads, but I'm becoming extremely weary of that. I'm just trying to wait patiently, but its pretty frustrating that my soon to be alma mater is showing me no love. 😳

Don't worry about it I have a friend who got accepted to Johns Hopkins last year.
He was interviewed on April or something . Don't give up!

that would really bite if it was just the aug mcat thats holding us back;I mean they have a deadline for a reason. my numbers are pretty good but i was complete late and figure that's why i havent heard back.

My file was complete late October, and I haven't heard anything from Emory either. Do you guys really think sending a letter of interest helps? I haven't done that for any schools yet, but I really want an Emory interview...

I had been completely at Emory since way early on in the game and just received an interview invitation from them via email on Monday. I have interviewed at several other top 10 and 20 schools, so don't freak out yet if you haven't heard from them. I had almost forgotten I applied there when I got their email!
