A friend of mine recently got hired right out of dental school and will be making about 150-160k plus benefits including free CEand certification. That got me curious so I looked up dental ads hiring near me and saw some listings offering around 200-220k with benefits as well and sign on bonuses and minimum requirement was DMD or dds. Is this really the case or probably not gonna happen?

Your location plays a huge role in it, as does the type of work you are going into (i.e., corporate, private practice, etc.). Although getting paid 200-220K straight out of school seems unlikely. That ad probably wasn't aimed at dentists just entering the field

Private practice

Most grads don't start making nearly that much. Key word is start. Still, you'll be making more than most Americans ever will.

Really depends on where you live, for example, here in Toronto (Canada) a new grad was making $700/day (private practice).

Yes, it's possible.
