is it a good idea to take practice test 10 2 days before the real mcat?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
If you can patch up your problems on a post-test analysis on time. I would personally keep that last week open to avoid burnout. Seriously, nothing worse than writing then just lose all motivation during the test, not even wanting to read the question stems.

I would take it 3 days before your real test that way you can review it the next day and then have one free day before your test.

So....

Wednesday: Take last practice test
Thursday: Review it
Friday: Free day
Saturday: Real test

do not take 10 the week before. seriously. leave 9 for the week before or somethin.

especially if verbal isn't your strong point, because the verbal on 10 kinda demoralized me and i took it 3 days before

I agree with rocketbooster. Your last practice FL opportunity is 3-4 days before your MCAT. You need time to review your test and to take a break day before your MCAT.

well i decided to take it and i made a 30...so im pretty happy. i made a bunch of stupid mistakes in the bio sciences, that hopefully i will correct tomorrow.

So do you guys recommend taking practice test 10 before 9, and then taking 9 before the actual test?

whatever, doesn't really matter. I happened to do 9 before 10 before my test last year but that wasn't planned.

in terms of what the above poster wrote, it does seem AAMC10's VR was extra hard. I got the same scores on the sciences but an 8 on AAMC10's VR versus a 10 on AAMC9's VR.

my last 4 VR's before my test + plus real test's VR last year were...

3/22/08: AAMC 4: 10
3/29/08: AAMC 9: 10
3/31/08: AAMC 10: 8
4/2/08: AAMC 6: 10
4/5/08 REAL MCAT: 10

my VR score was okay, but my sciences sucked haha. that's why I'm retaking it next week. 👎 you really need at least 10s in everything to get interviews. trust me, I know, I only got 1 this year and it ended in a waitlist.

I like the idea of taking it three days before so you can do a good post analysis and get one last day of practice/review. Rest the day before and try to start to get on a good sleeping schedule. I take mine 5/2 and will be doing one Sat, one Mon, and then AAMC 10 on Wed. I can't wait to get this stupid thing done!!!

This is what I did as well, and I felt fine and rather confident. And some how didn't burn out considering I had two exams and a presentation the week before :scared: (oh how semester schedule's turn out after registering for an MCAT before school begins....)

Verbal is my only strong point. That being said, the verbal on AAMC10 was beyond crazy.

The writing in the passages is incredibly poor. They must have dug long and hard to find passages with such interrupted flow.

Like many, I was two points below my AAMC average on that one.

Ignore it and move on.

Is there no one who feels that aamc 10 was NOT that difficult a practice test? i won't go as far as saying that it was the easiest, but i crushed that exam when i took it; even the VR section, in which i got 34/40, which was probably one away from a scaled score of 12. (i was usually scoring 10-11, with the occasional 9 and the occasional 12)

Did no one else find aamc 10 a pretty good test overall?

(Actually, i remember finding practice test 8 pretty difficult actually...)
