Is It A Good Sign When Schools Contact You About Secondaries?

I've gotten a couple e-mails from schools that didn't ask for supplementary materials when I applied. They're basically just asking for money and to make an account on their "online portal". But is this a good sign or do they send those out to all possible candidates and just exclude the outliers who have too low GPA or DAT scores?

Some schools will just take every applicant's money. Some will be selective about who they send secondaries to.

are you talking about a secondary application or secondary fee? Because all schools will and usually must have the secondary fee to even take a look at your file. Places that require a secondary app is another issue; I know minnesota has you download it on their website and send it with the secondary fee so that one is school specific, midwestern is very similar.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but don't get your hopes up about secondaries. I had several schools ask me to fill out their secondary application and send them the secondary fee, then they rejected me the same day they cashed the check.
