Is it a waste of time to take upper level stats class and technical writing course?

I'd like to get better in scientific writing and data analysis for clinical research. Is it a waste of time taking an upper-level stats class (biostats?) and a technical writing course? I have taken stats and learned r, but I pretty much forgot what I learned as I don't use it. I've taken the general college writing course, but nothing focused on scientific writing, other than a few lab reports in my gen eds.

I took a technical writing course in my final semester of college to fulfill my english requirement. Turned out to be one of the most useful and chillest classes I've ever taken. We had assignments like a mechanism description, writing a memo, and writing a formal letter, all useful stuff for any future career. I recommend it if you have the time. As for stats, biostats is recommended by some schools, but not required. I took it as a sophomore and unfortunately don't remember much, however.

Stats would be helpful. I took two advanced stats courses and have never regretted it.

Admittedly a bit biased, but I have never regretted taking my upper level stats courses.

A more controversial opinion: I think they should start becoming a standard requirement for medical school, since so much of reading medical literature and being critical of it is understanding how statistics works and not blindly trusting what authors claim the statistics are (especially since so many of them don't necessarily know how stats should be applied).

Currently, I'm finishing up my major requirements, but I decided to add a technical writing course. I think I might just take a biostats course.
