I'm applying to medical school, and also have an interest in public health (I am pursuing a certificate in public health during my gap year). I would be interested in pursuing a joint MD/MPH (really like the MPH coursework, and believe I can apply principles of public health to my medical practice). However, my main objective is to become a physician, and I would only be interested in committing to a joint MD/MPH program if it were easier to get into that an MD program, since it would either take additional time or intensify the 4 year MD program. Does anyone have any information as to whether a joint MD/MPH degree is in fact easier to get into?
