Hey all...is it just me or is the NMS Review for USMLE Step I a tough set of questions?

I have done questions from other sources, but the first 50 question set in this book killed me...42% right. In other sources I was 65%+. Maybe it was just the first test that was hard...havent looked through the rest yet.

Opinions?

Thanks

From my own experience, NMS questions are harder than the USMLE....the true value of the book comes from its answer section which gives pagelong explanations to some of the questions....don't feel bad if you get worse scores on NMS than you do in other sources, because it happens to a lot of people....just keep chugging along and dont forget to keep reviewing so you don't forget material that you went over early on...good luck

NMS and Qbank questions are a poor measure of test performance IF you spend more time reading and studying the answers. NMS Step 1 has great answers. I used A&L instead of NMS and also thought the questions were awesome.

My advice to you re: NMS question book -- pick it up, hurl it across the room and let it lie there where it lands until after you take Step 1. Meanwhile, go out and get Appleton and Lange's review question book. It's much better and you won't end up feeling as frustrated. (I got 679/98% on COMLEX 1 w/o NMS if you are skeptical about my advice.)
