Is it me or are the curves for prac AAMC exams harsh?

For example, I only got 4 incorrect in the verbal of AAMC 10, but received an 11. Does the real thing have a more generous curve?

I got the same score in AAMC 10 for verbal as well. I would assume that the curve is just as harsh for the real exam as it gets difficult to differentiate between higher scores (11+) with just 40 questions.
