I am planning to apply for Dental school next year in May and I might not have my last physic II credit by then. So, can I still apply for schools in May while trying to complete the pre-req by July? Will I be disadvantaged in any way?

As long as you get your DAT scores in, and you have the prereqs complete before you enter d-school, you should be fine! :luck:

but would I be at disadvatange during the selection process since I don't have all the pre-req's done?

Naw don't worry about it...Physics II isn't on the DAT so you can complete it after you apply. As long as you have all the pre-reqs done that will be on the DAT you're fine. You most likely won't be at a disadvantage. When I applied I also hadn't taken Physics II. Everything worked out just fine. So just make sure to finish the other pre-reqs before dental school. 👍

Not at all.

Nope. Virtually every school has a section on their secondary application or else where asking you to detail your courses-in-progress as they understand a lot of applicants are currently enrolled in school and are working towards their degree.

oh okay, you guys made it sound like the adcom doesn't even care about physic pre-reqs. So, as long I have done general chem, organic chem, some biology, and english, I should be fine?

Yes, you should be fine with those prereqs. As far as physics goes, it doesn't matter when you take it, just as long as you take it and don't completely bomb it.

They don't care about physics. You'll be fine, and you don't even have to have all of those prereqs that you've listed completed. You just have to have them completed prior to matriculation, and be able to tell the adcoms when you'll be taking them.

but would I be a more competitive applicant if I did well in physic II before I apply?

Will the A in physics bring your GPA up substantially? If not don't worry about it, Admission commitee's don't really nit pick classes as opposed to overall GPA, science GPA and you're DAT score.

Physics is not a deal breaker either, so not having it is not going to kill you when you apply.

again, everyone on here is saying APPLY already.
