is it ok to show emotion during interview?

is it ok if they ask about something that effected you to show emotion? or does it show weakness, etc...(atleast you have less defense mechanisms?)...

i mean, how computerized and artifically smiley are we supposed to be?

ummm, you have to show some kind of emotion ie smile.. that would be WEIRD if you didn't smile :scared: 😕 :laugh: wow, now i have that image in my head of someone sitting there in interview not smiling, with a totally flat affect :laugh: :meanie:

ETA: but umm don't cry or do anything weird like that either, you'll make your interview uncomfortable

Be yourself during interview. Try not to get stressed out and show your anxiety, only if you are asked ..why Psychiatry? or any interesting case... then you should talk about the case, professionally and honestly describe why you liked it, keeping the description very brief and upto point, and elaborating if asked more. All the best.
