Is it okay to have little volunteering in one semester due to research?

I'm doing 2 research labs this semester (19 hr total) and will only have time to volunteer 2 hr per week (non clinical). I was going to try to volunteer at a hospital also but am afraid I won't be able to study for all my classes.

Volunteering typically should take priority to research, unless the research is something you are passionate about or can/will lead to a publication. On that note, grades are your biggest priority. You could have a Nobel prize and be the dhali lama and not get in to medical school if your GPA is in the hole.

However, if it won’t likely interfere with grades, 2 hours a week is sufficient as long as in is for the sake of longevity.

Bro if you had a Nobel prize you could get an acceptance with a GPA of 2.0 due to the uncle moneybags level NIH grants you could get.

Fine, maybe not a Nobel prize. What about Olympic bronze?
