I was in Biology club for two years and in Pre-Med Club for a year. I am wanting to be a pharmacist but never joined pre-pharm because I was debating between being a doctor or pharmacist. Do you guys think I should put Pre-Med club in my resume? Or will pharmacy schools see it as a weakness because it is saying "i gave up too easy"...

I will join pre-pharm club this coming semester.

Aloha! Just came back from Hawaii!

Anyways, I would just put down "pre-health club." Pre-med or pre-pharmacy pre-dental, in the bigger picture, they're all the same.

IMO, I think pre-med clubs kind of defeats the purpose of an EC. You sure you don't have anything else?

I did the same thing! For mine, we did a lot of volunteering so that could be a plus if you don't have other volunteer time. But, it does put the question into their mind if you've really thought being a pharmacist through or not. Might put extra doubt in their minds you don't want, IMO. I'm personally leaving mine off because I have a ton of other ECs to add.

Is there any way to construe it to be a "pre-health" club? Or was it straight up called Pre-med club?

btw are you applying to UH Hilo?

and i agree with the above comment that "pre-med" EC's almost defeat the purpose of an extracurricular since, by definition, these clubs focus on the curricular. However, their saving grace is the community service they provide. Just my $.02

what would you think about if a club called Pre-Pharmacy Club
because I'm planning to join my school's one in this Fall 07

I don't understand your question. But it is a good idea to join a Pre-Pharm club if you have one available. Helps you learn about different pharm professions.

ohh, sorry I was typing as a I think

I meant as Pre-Pharmacy Club should count as extracurricular activity right?

If you can address your change in your PS and your interview, then using that club as a ec may work. I used to be pre-med complete with some pre-med activities, but I had enough other activities that I just listed the ones that were pertinent to pharmacy more. I never was a part of a pre-pharmacy club at my school.
