Is it possible to find out what kind of person each residency program want to take? For example, if they want to have a resident with interests in education, or with strong background in research, or volunteered a lot in rural area.
I'm asking this question because I won't waste too much ERAS application fee if I know that the programs that are unlikely to favor me.
In addition, I will have an idea about what to emphasize in my PS for each program that I'm applying for.
Thank you!

There's really no way to know, other than by reviewing their website. However, all you're likely to find are generalities that won't really help. That's partly because most programs aren't looking for one specific type of person. They;re looking for a mix of people that will work well together.
