A Army recruiter told me that I could apply to a army residency program also if I'm a civilian.
I don't know if its possible. I'd like to know some real info.

Yes. see the Army GME website http://www.mods.army.mil/medicaleducation/
But, make certain it is something you want to do. THere are some great benefits mixed with some big shortcomings.

yes u can, but for anything competitve you wont get it, however, if u apply to military primary care specialties like Family, Peds, IM and Neuro u will most likely match. Remember though that u have to "sign the commitment paperwork" to be in the military, you dont get to be in a military program as a civilian. Therefore if u do a military residency, u will accrue time based on # of years taht residency is.

Can I apply for the transitional year with the Army too?
I know that military students have to do a transitional year first and then they can apply to a residency program.
Do I have to do the same or I can apply directly to a Program?

Depends on the service and program. The Navy requires re-applying after intern year, but Army has gone away from this for most programs, but not all. Not certain about Air Force.

Im thinking to apply to a Pathology program with the Army.
I'll check each Medical Center out to see their requirements.
